Knelsen maintains an active role in several key industry associations: on the board at Alberta Sand & Gravel Association and Concrete Alberta, and on the HSSE committees. This enables our company to be an industry leader when developing new and improved best practices, all while working with various levels of government to propose and enact new safety regulations.
As our company has grown, we have continued to develop a robust catalog of internal online and in-person training resources to ensure that top-quality training is being consistently delivered to all employees.
Each new employee goes through a complete orientation program that has the following courses (position-dependent) available to them:

Ongoing Training
Our company strives to ensure that all employees are competent and well qualified for their roles when they are hired. Each new employee goes through a complete orientation program with over 25 safety courses required to complete (position-dependent).
Individual Site Hazard Assessments & Safety Meetings
A crucial part of keeping everyone safe is to inform and be informed of potential hazards. Workplace inspections occur at every worksite at various intervals. These inspections are specific to each project and the dynamics involved at each location and are conducted alongside daily and weekly safety meetings.
Emergency Response Plans
Each job site has an emergency response plan which is updated or reviewed on a weekly basis for completeness and compliance.
